The Foundation is offering up to 16 weeks (1- and/or 2-week) of full Scholarships for Hampton Roads youth, ages 5-16, wishing to attend the HYC Opti Summer Program for Explorer, Opti 1 or Dinghy 1 or 2.

The Explorer Program is intended for novices ages 5-7. The Opti 1 Program is intended for novices ages 8-13. The Dinghy 1/2 Program is intended for novices ages 13-18. Whichever Program you choose, the idea is for you to have fun learning to sail. You must pass the Junior Sailing swim test.

This is a need-based Scholarship. For 2025, family household income must be less than $72,000 (2 adults in household)/$60,000 (1 adult in household) for the Opti/Dinghy Program.

The deadline to receive your Application is July 15 -- but don't wait as Applications are reviewed and acted upon when they are received.  The HYC Foundation Bumps Scholarship Committee will notify all applicants of their status promptly after receipt of their Application.
